Do I have to do welfare-to-work activities during the COVID-19 pandemic?

It depends.  Most, if not all activities, cannot be done safely in light of the Governor’s stay at home order.  The counties should broadly grant “good cause” requests that allow you to continue to receive aid and not complete welfare-to-work requirements.  If your county sanctions you for non-compliance, please contact our office for assistance.  Counties have broad discretion to allow you to fix your sanction by signing a “cure plan” to continue receiving benefits.

In certain circumstances, you can still receive child care even if you are unable to strictly follow your welfare-to-work plan.
